Extra dry skin? I have a solution

There are the places where no matter how much you seem to put on, your normal lotion just doesn’t cut it.  For me, this includes the joints (in the elbows and knees), and especially the heels and the bottoms of my feet.  This is when I switch to something a little more moisturizing, like Aveeno’s Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream.  Like Keri, it is also a drugstore variety, but a jar can last me 4-6 months with daily use.

From Aveeno’s website:

This rich cream is clinically proven to provide immediate, long-lasting relief for itchy, extra dry skin, while moisturizing for 24 hours. Its breakthrough, patented formula with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal, cocoa and shea butters, provides a protective barrier to prevent future dryness and contains menthol to cool dry skin on contact. It’s great even on especially rough areas like heels, elbows and knees. It’s also a skin protectant, no added fragrances, non-greasy and Dermatologist tested.

I’ve used Aveeno’s skin relief moisturizing cream almost every day for the past 4 years now, especially on the bottoms of my feet, in the evenings prior to going to bed.  Since I have been in my teens (I’m now in my 20s), my worst fear is getting dried, thick, and cracked grandma-like feet.  For me, this has not yet materialized, and all the credit all goes to this cream.

The consistency is much thicker than your average cream, but this is what makes fantastic for dry spots.  It has a slight cocoa butter smell, with a hint of methanol, but it disappears pretty fast post-application.  For the price and volume, I don’t think there’s much better out there.  I consider this one product one of Winnie’s essentials (other than Keri lotion, Vaseline, and my face cream)!

I’m going to try this on my bf, he has the driest feet in the world…

This reminds me of my university roommate. She’d applied it prior to bed. The funny thing was, she wears socks to bed, so when she woke up the next morning her feet were so moist that she slipped, fell and did a split in the washroom. She was stuck there for a good half hour before she was able to get up!

It’s a sad but funny story. The cream works!
