Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion

I think brand recognition is pretty important and we tend to stick with what works for us.  Another factor is availability.  Given the quantity of body lotion and cream my family members and I all use, buying them individually from the drug store gets costly.  Our solution?  Costco, of which carries Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion.

I’ve been using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion for the past 5-6 years on and off, rotating between this and my Keri lotion depending on what’s available at home.  Although the consistency is light, it is surprisingly moisturizing.  I’m not entirely sure about its claim to moisturize for 24 hours, as I would personally apply lotion more frequently than that, but I would say it lasts quite a few hours.  The formula absorbs quickly and there isn’t any greasy after effects.  Another benefit is that it is unscented.

The description on the back and the ingredient list

The lotion contains colloidal oatmeal which has been used by ancient peoples as a beauty treatment.  For Aveeno’s daily moisture lotion, colloidal oatmeal is used to sooth and moisturize itchy dry skin, as well as creating a barrier lock in the moisture.

My only complaint about this product is that sometimes it doesn’t feel moisturizing enough, especially in the wintertime, but it is perfect as a summer all over cream.  Also, with any other pump packaging, it becomes frustrating near the end of the bottle when you can’t reach the remaining product at the very bottom.

I consider this a mid-range drugstore product at around $10 a pump bottle, but it does last a few months with daily use.  I would recommend this product to anyone who requires a good moisturizer, but prefers something that’s light and absorbs quickly.

I’ve used Aveeno since forever. Interesting fact on the oatmeal, I didn’t realize that.
